The Seed

Head, held high, little seed.
Look up…
The branches in the trees,
Long brown beautiful, with their green green leaves
Trunk, laden with delicious bark, dark brown as mud
Bark that serves as a home
for loving ants and protectant spider webs.
for birds who color the branches vibrant blue and ruby red.

Trekking through the sleet and the rain and the snow.
Winds and Storms and Wet Hot Summers
Committed to their roots,
who knelt down hour after hour, digging you a home.

Reach for the trees,
Little seed.
Don’t Fall to your knees,
Stand up, dig deep.
Build from the beautiful budding of sweet sweet seeds.
Soak up the sun
and the thirst quenching waters
you will grow
with lessons of the sleet and the rain and the snow
Dig down deep and plant those roots
and you too, little seedling
will bring forth beautiful fruits.
